Originally from Winnipeg, Jayson Gallop (Manitoba Métis) completed his BA in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg. Subsequently he made a transition to photography and went to study in Victoria. He later relocated to Toronto and New York.

Jayson has 20 years of experience as an advertising, editorial, and portrait photographer. He specializes in using dramatic photographic lighting to highlight the direct candor he elicits from his subjects.

His clients include the University of Toronto, First Nations House Magazine, Report on Business, National Post Business, Fashion Magazine and Socan . He has photographed Canadian public figures, artists, and musicians--Stephen Lewis, Dr. Cindy Blackstock, Istvan Kantor, Leslie Feist, Avril Lavigne, and Emily Haines of Metric, to name a few. Most recently he is a staff fashion photographer for Toronto's visual advertorial Novella Magazine.
